A gas tanker crashed on the Accra-Tema motorway stretch with gas leaking onto the street causing heavy traffic.

The crash which happened on Wednesday (December 6, 2017) caused fear and panic among drivers and road users.
The quick response by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented any possible gas explosion or accidents that could have occurred.
Deputy Public Relations Officer of GNFS Prince Billy Anaglate said they received a distress call on Wednesday morning and acted quickly to prevent any unfortunate incident.

He told Accra-based Starr FM that that personnel from the GNFS managed to seal the valve of the gas tanker and prevent the gas which was leaking from causing any disaster.
The tanker has since been transported to the Tanker Yard in Tema.
